knoten.chat runs a Matrix homeserver. The messages, media and room data transmitted and stored there come from its users and from other servers in the Matrix federation. They are third-party information within the meaning of § 7 (1) DDG in conjunction with Articles 4 to 8 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act).

Under Article 8 DSA there is no general obligation to monitor this content or to actively search for indications of illegal activity. Responsibility for a specific piece of content begins with knowledge of it. As soon as an infringement becomes known, the content concerned is removed or access to it is blocked.
